Stefan Pehl was born in 1982 in Eutin, in Northern Germany, where he grew up in close connection with nature. The vastness of the flat landscape by the lakeside and the Baltic sea sharpened his eye early on for the deep horizons and sensitive colour variations, that are reflected in his work.
He graduated with a Diploma from Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Hamburg, and also won a scholarship for a semester at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston (USA).
After this, he spent several work stays in Florida, New York and London. Exhibitions in Germany and also abroad followed soon.
The painter Stefan Pehl often disappears for weeks in almost untouched areas of the world, where he is diving deep into the beauty of wild nature. The abstract landscapes, which he is creating, unfold slowly, and then leave a deep impact on the viewer, developing their full intensity over time.
The sensitivity of his approach seems to open up a whole new dimension, deriving from the subconscious, and therefore allowing the viewer to get in closer touch with hidden feelings.
